In today’s ever-changing social climate, mentorship can be one of the most powerful tools in shaping the personal, academic, and professional development of young people. This webinar will explore the essential elements of effective mentorship; emphasizing how positive, supportive relationships can help youth navigate challenges, build resilience, and unlock their full potential.

Additionally, through an insightful discussion, we will explore the advantages of mentorship for adolescents, parents, and mentors, providing insights into how they can build, cultivate, and utilize meaningful connections for growth.

Speakers:

Damion Addison, MPH

Damion joined Fact Forward in January 2022 as an intern, where he later transitioned into the role of Capacity Building Specialist. In this role, he provides technical assistance, conducts partner training needs assessments, instructional design, development plans, and learning strategies. Damion received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Francis Marion University. He continued his academic studies, obtaining a Master of Public Health from Southern New Hampshire University. As a US Army Veteran and former healthcare worker, acts of service and health education have always been his passion.

Samuel Bellamy

Samuel has increased the effectiveness of community- and school-based mentoring programs working with young men of color over the past ten years as a mentor and technical assistance provider for Mentor: The National Partnership. He uses his years of experience as a capacity builder and strategic implementer to offer youth mentoring programs a variety of resources for capacity building, empowering programs to adopt and improve the mentoring practices that have a long-term sustainable positive impact. Samuel also manages a portfolio of grant making projects across nine counties as a program officer for a Community Foundation. He also provides technical assistance and result management services to nonprofit organizations all throughout the region. Samuel has a master’s in public administration with a specialty in Nonprofit Management, is a certified DISC trainer, a skilled Results Based Accountability facilitator, a published author three times. In addition to being married and the father of three kids, he also serves Increasing Faith Ministries as an Associate Pastor.
